Simit / Kind of Bagel

Typical Turkish Bagels. You see these fellows everywhere in Istanbul. Actually not in Istanbul only, they are in whole Turkey. It is very cheap. We usually have some cheese and tea with it. No matter, it is rains or snows, these guys are always there, in every single corner.

One of the best loved restaurants in Nelson is a Turkish takeaway by a husband-and-wife duo; it's so popular sometimes we have to wait outside. They opened a proper restaurant 2 years ago and they have unbelievably good food. The only thing is, New Zealand prohibits importing the special kind of milk (??) that's required for sticky Turkish ice cream! One day!!!

Meg, Why don't you come to Turkey and taste it?
