Very sad stuff... Unfortunately this is for 2 main reasons.. the first of which is dodgy contractors and the second is usually bad council officials in building control who do nothing to control these contractors.
it's really pitiful. In engineering nothing is certain and we use "safety factors" for safety's sake. Generally this is 40% to 60%. This translates to an extra storey on a small building. However, when you do that then you reduce your tolerance for safety down to zero and that's when accidents happen!!!!
totally crap if you ask me. these people in control need to be held responsible.
A sad, sad story and a universal one. How do these dodgy contractors and officials sleep at night knowing they're responsible for the deaths of innocent people? Angela
by the way, can i be a bit cheeky and ask for a particular picture/post?
one thing i love about Turkish food is pasturma.. totally yummy.. perhaps you can post us a pic next time you come across it and tell us a bit more about how they make it, and sell it etc..
my sincerest apologies if you happen to be a veggie!

Sadly, it is a universal problem...profits over safety.
Very suitable post (and mine fits in as well).
Condolences to the families of the dead and injured.

How sad to sacrifice lives for money.
i'm sorry to hear about the collapsed building, very appropriate photo i'd say.
Well done with the photo very fitting (unfortunetly!!).
Sorry to hear about the incident in Istanbul. I haven't been watching the news lately so this is the first time I heard of it.
Too many late nights at the office this week. Have a good weekend.
Thanks friends. The investigation is not finished. I will post an update soon.
