Istanbul Through My Eyes
Since 1875
This high school is in Taksim, on the European side of Istanbul, the cities heart beat. It is very crowded during the day time, surrounded with clubs and restaurants...For me, it looks more like the Castle of Dracula than a high school...

Your right. This photo taken on a foggy night would invoke images of a Castle from an old Dracula movie ... I'll bet the kids are in great shape from climbing stairs between classes.
Is it in use?
Here, the new high schools are very "cookie cutter" meaning that they all look as if they came from the same set of plans. Mostly boring, boring, institutional architecture.
I like the way you used b/w to put emphasis on the Dracula-esque feelings you were having toward it.
I appreciate your visit to my blog. Sorry the horse made you sad.
Oya,
Thanks for your visit to my blog. In reading your profile, we have a number of things in common. I work remote as well managing a team of Database Administrators for AOL. My guys are in California & Virginia, so Colorado is as good a place as any for me. I have worked from home, and it does get kind of boring some times. In addition, I tend never to leave my work when based in the home. I ended up renting a desk at a local wireless Internet provider in Delta, and that puts me back in an atmosphere that is more conducive to technical talk. Both situations have their advantages. I have found the blogging community to be a good outlet.
I have never been to Turkey, but my son was there with YWAM for 2 months last year. I tend to do more camping around the US.
Anyway, thanks again for your visit, and I look forward to seeing Turkey through your lens!
Hello Kostas, yes it is still in use.
Ravenchase Junkie, the new schools are the same here, all the same type of plans but there are bunch of old ones too. I will keep showing them.
Bill, you are most welcomed :)
it could be a very nice apartment building!
That is an awesome building!
