A very old cafe, they serve the best Turkish coffee ever...
It is a "must try" for the travellers...

Are there any smoke-free cafes in Istanbul?
i would like to try turkish coffee in Turkey, haha, but turkish coffee in bosnia is great.
long time no see, i've been a bit busy and was looking forward to the sunday to browse CDP.

I'm not sure to have been to this one, but the Dervish looks great!

Isabella, no there are no smoke free cafes yet, but all cafes have two diffrent parts for smokers and non-smokers. But, it's not good enough, isn't it?

Looks good, bet it isn't just espresso. Are you seeing any goings on and Australian travellers for the Anzac memorial on Wednesday or should'nt I ask?!
j'aime l'ambiance des cafes à l'orientale. il y a un superbe café dans la grande mosquée de Paris, on a l'impression d'etre dans un petit coin de paradis
I like the environment of the coffees to the Eastern one. there is a superb coffee in the large mosque of Paris, one has the impression to be in a small corner of paradise

I think that painting on the ceilings/walls are Dervish spiritual dancing.
Part of Sufi tradition, or I am mistaking.
Btw smoking where I currently live (Portland OR) is not allowed in the caffe`s/restaurants.
But now on my visit to the Chicago, I found that people still smoke indoors(bars/caffe`s/restaurants)
Teamsplashi, yes , they are Dervish . Non smoking restaurant is a dream for us...Everyone smokes :(
hye oya.... I'm from Malaysia... haha.. Like ur blog.. actually I've been to Istanbul about 8 times.. and I really like eating in this cafe... hahaha... Yemek aa? actually I'll be going there again this coming May... :)
I Like the atmosphere of this Cafe, feels warm and cozy. I've never had Turkish coffee so I had to look up how it's made and found a Turkish Coffee Tutorial. I'm going to have to try this, once I acquire the proper tools. I currently make my coffee using a french press.

Oh, I sooooo want to be there, though I can't drink Turkish coffee... (I have to wait for the "mud" to sink to the bottom and just sip the weak stuff on the top.)
