Inside their worn, tattered bodies
dwell the souls of old men.
How unhappy the poor things are
and how bored by the pathetic life they live.
How they tremble for fear of losing that life, and how much
they love it, those befuddled and contradictory souls,
sitting—half comic and half tragic—
inside their old, threadbare skins.

It is hard sometimes. I am only 73 and it is hard for me to get around sometimes but I still dig holes and plants trees and flowers and ride my bike sometimes and go for nature walks with my wife, Patty. We have been married for 52 years. I started taking photographs back in 1953.

I like your photograph. It not only shows an old man but it also shows a modern, young, woman who shows little concern for the old man. Maybe she hasn't noticed him yet.

I got to fly last night. I mean I just dove in and flew. You can find out how on my blog post today.

You and I are on the same wavelength the last 2 days... seeing the same things, sort of. This man is taking a step, part of this busy world around him and somehow separate, a stranger to the lady in sunglasses looking up. I also like the man in the white shirt and black vest in the background who seems to be pondering something!
