Ortakoy Mosque

Took this photo from the boat....
According to Wikipedia, it was built at 1854 and it's architects were Armenian.
Nice....

Your photograph of this mosque makes it look like it was carved from ivory. I am glad it wasn't but the photo sure looks like an ivory carving.

It's one of the prettiest mosques I think. I used to love going to the Sunday markets there (we lived just up the hill- walking distance). But I never went inside - I wonder what it is like?

I love your pictures! My husband is from Turkey and we visit frequently. It has become my second love. I have a very similar picture taken from the edge in Ortakoy with the bridge behind the mosque hanging in my office.
