Tile Work

Tile work is a very common gift idea in Turkey. Almost everybody has some ceramic or glass tile work at their house. It comes as an ash trey, bowl, wine glass or whatever you can imagine. I found this shop interesting because I didn't see those cats before. They are cute, aren't they?

Normally I would rant and rave about tiles and mosaic, but I love the dancer figurines. I once watched a video of how they make their felt hats - a lot of work!

They are cute, I know here two small girls, who could love them. They have had about a year "cat time", they are drawing cats and playing with imagine
cats and so on.
Now they are in a children art school, where they can use different materials for making cats

Really beautiful, Oya. Are there Indians living in Istanbul? Expats? Like I saw in the Hindi movie 'Guru'.

We incorporated Turkish tiles into our kitchen when we renovated a few years ago. Just live Turkish ceramics.

Oya, Turkish coffee - I once worked at the Syrian Embassy in Tokyo; the ambassador had it every day, and at every staff meeting or special occasion, we got some. They thought me crazy because I waited until everything settled at the bottom before I touched it; the ambassador would sometimes kindly stir it all over for me!!!

My daughter loves anything to do with cats. The ones you photographed are exceptionally lovely! We have a couple of turkish shops in Kuala Lumpur selling turkish tiles but have not seen the cats there.
