19 May

Tomorrow is Ataturk Remembrance, Youth & Sports Day
We celebrate this day every year since our Independence war began at 1919,
which is resulted with the foundation of the Turkish Republic.
All buildings will be covered with flags, like this ....
Wish you all a very nice weekend

Happy Independence Day. Didn't the German Battlecruiser Goeben play a part in this. I can't remember the Turkish name for it.

The red flags really stand out. Flags always give me a feeling of pride, honor, especially with my brother being in the military. Have you heard from your brother?, hope all is well.

What is the center building?

I remember to have seen many portraits of Ataturk everywhere when I went in your country (20 years ago, it's time to go again!). Have a nice weekend, Oya.

I love the modern building showing respect for the ancient. The dome is most appropriate. Happy Remembrance day.

Jules, thanks for asking. He is fine. I am talking to him every other day and will go to visit him next week.:)The center building is a regular office building. Nothing special. This neighborhood is Levent. Kinda Manhattan in New York.
