OH, the Church of Saint Anthony (of Lisbon, not Padua). It's another beautiful building in Istiklal Caddesi. Loved to see it, even if it was cold...

Have you ever been inside? it's beautifiul - a haven of calm and tranquility along Istiklal. (gmg: I think it is the Franciscan church of S Antonio di Padua; least that's what all my guide books say :-))

that is a beautiful church. A couple of years ago I had an opportunity to light some of the candles to make a wish. My wishes came true almost a year later. I even took my husband to this beautiful church in 2005 on our first trip to Istanbul together. Oya, cok guzel.... ellerine saglik...
